Canaan Azzi is an executive, designer, and U.S. Army veteran. He is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Lotus Corporation and the Founder Emeritus of Bombyx Mori Security Services.
His work spans defense, manufacturing, engineering, security, and industrial development. Across these fields, he has focused on building organizations and developing practical capabilities rather than remaining solely on the management side of the business. He maintains a hands-on role in design, product development, operations, and strategic planning.
From Service to Industry
Canaan began his career in the United States Army before moving into private security and contracting. His military and security experience provided a foundation in operations, risk management, leadership, and decision-making in demanding environments.
He later entered the private sector as an entrepreneur, establishing and developing businesses in security, engineering, manufacturing, media, and related industries. Over time, his work expanded from individual ventures into broader efforts to build companies, develop industrial capabilities, and create connections between engineering, manufacturing, and strategic business development.
Engineering and Design
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Canaan has developed a broad technical background through hands-on work in mechanical design, precision manufacturing, CAM programming, architecture, product development, and 3D design.
That technical background remains central to his approach to business. Rather than separating engineering from management, he approaches organizations from both perspectives, with an emphasis on understanding how products are designed, how they are manufactured, and how the underlying organizations must operate to support them.
Through Blue Lotus Corporation and related ventures, his work has increasingly focused on strengthening American manufacturing and the defense industrial base, while creating opportunities for veterans, skilled tradespeople, engineers, and manufacturers.
Service and Community
Canaan is active in civic and community organizations, with particular interests in veterans, manufacturing, workforce development, and public service. He has participated in organizations and initiatives including the American Red Cross, Knights of Columbus, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Outside of his professional work, he is a writer with interests in history, strategy, engineering, architecture, and languages. His broader interests often inform his approach to business and design, particularly his interest in the relationship between institutions, technology, and society.
